「in spite of」と「despite」は、どちらも「～にもかかわらず」「～だけれども」という意味で使われ、基本的には同じように使うことができますが、いくつかの違いがあります

in spite of

意味：「～にもかかわらず」「～という状況を考慮しても」

前置詞句で、後ろに名詞や動名詞（-ing形）を続けます
